Biography

Dr. Waterbrook is Board Certified in General Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He obtained his undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.  He graduated as a medical doctor from the Loma Linda University in California in 2004.  Following that, he completed general surgery residencies at Wright State University in Ohio, Loma Linda University in California, Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine (where he was a clinical instructor and residential teacher of the year in 2008/2009), and then became board certified in general surgery at the Kettering Health Network, Wright State University in Ohio, where he was also a clinical assistant professor of surgery. He has also been trained in robotic surgery.

Dr. Waterbrook moved to the Grass Valley area in 2014 along with his wife, Katie,  for the love of small towns, pine trees, hiking, mountain biking, walking, skiing and boating. Since then they have added three blessings to their family with whom they now enjoy camping and getting out to explore our area. And it didn't hurt that it was closer to the grandparents. Before moving to Grass Valley,  Dr. Waterbrook previously practiced in Dayton, Ohio, But let there be no doubt that he is a Michigan boy through and through.
